Bret has 30 years of experience building security infrastructures, including Cloud, Virtualization, SOA, Web services, policy development and management, and security modeling and analysis. Bret has spoken at dozens of security and privacy industry events and prior to EMC held senior management roles at IBM, DataPower, Hitachi, and Concept Five. Bret started his career as a U.S. Air Force officer assigned to the U.S. National Security Agency where he helped to create the "DoD Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria" (Orange Book). Bret has also co-authored security industry specifications, security technology books, and a patent for enterprise application security integration. Bret holds a B.S. in Computer Science & Engineering from MIT and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.

    Charles Fan is a Senior Vice President of EMC Corporation and Chairman of China Center of Excellence. He founded the EMC China R&D Center in 2006 which grew into China Center of Excellence in 2009. The EMC China Center of Excellence is one of the most important and innovative R&D engines for EMC’s market-leading products. It has attracted over 1000 talented engineers from around the world. In 2008, Charles was named one of “Shanghai’s Top 10 IT Youth Elites”. He is currently a member of the Mayor’s Council of Chengdu and Cloud Computing Committee under the China Institute of Electronics. Prior to joining EMC, he was a co-founder and CTO of Rainfinity, which was acquired by EMC in 2005. He led the creation of Rainfinity's market leading file virtualization product. Prior to Rainfinity, he held positions at Intel Corporation, Goldman Sachs and Cheyenne Software. Dr. Fan received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. He received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union. Dr. Fan has published in leading journals on distributed systems and networking, and holds five U.S. patents.

    Kai X. Miao is a Principal Engineer at Intel and works as the IA Systems Integration director in China. He is the founder of Wireless Futures Program, an industry consortium in China, for driving enterprise innovations over broadband wireless and the director of Intel-Beijing Jiaotong University joint lab for China Railways. He also serves as a guest faulty in Computer Science at Shanghai Jiaotong University, a top rated university in China. Kai held several other positions at Intel, including the principal solutions architect of Intel for North America Region in SMG and the lead architect in Intel Communications Group. He made significant contributions to several Intel communication platforms, including architecting IXP425 and IXP1200 based media gateway and servers. Before joining Intel in 1998, Kai was a faculty at Rutgers University and DeVry Institute of Technology. Kai X. Miao received his MS and Ph.D degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Cincinnati and BS degree in Communications from Northern (Beijing) Jiaotong University. He has published a number of journal and conference papers, is an author of two published books, and a holder of 10 US patents. In addition, he has been invited keynote speakers and session chairs at multiple industry events and conferences, was an active participant of IETF and ITU standard activities, and served as the co-editor of IEEE Communication Magazine in 2006.

He held the role of corporate vice president of the Business Process and Integration Division, where he was responsible for products including BizTalk Server, Microsoft Commerce Server and Microsoft Host Integration Server. Kummert also served as a corporate vice president in MSN, responsible for the MSN subscription businesses, including MSN Internet Access, MSN TV service and MSN software subscription offerings. He has held various other positions in product development, starting with the Windows NT operating system, and spent several years working on operating system technology and numerous consumer device products. Before joining Microsoft, Kummert worked at HP and Apple Computer Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington.     Tomonori Aoyama received the B.E., M.E. and Dr. Eng. from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Since he joined NTT Public Corporation in 1969, he has been engaged in R&D on communication networks and systems in the NTT Laboratories. From 1973 to 1974, he stayed in MIT as a visiting scientist. In 1995 he became Director of the NTT Optical Network Systems Laboratories. In 1997, he left NTT, and joined the University of Tokyo as a professor in the Graduate School of Engineering. In April 2006, he moved to Keio University, and is currently Professor of Graduate School of Media and Governance. He also serve as Program Coordinator for New Generation Network in National Institute of Information & Communications Technology (NICT). Dr. Aoyama is a member of Science Council of Japan, an IEEE Fellow and an IEICE (Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers) Fellow. He is the previous President of IEICE. He is serving as Chair of the Global Inter-Cloud Technology Forum (GICTF), Chair of Photonic Internet Forum (PIF), Vice-chair of Ubiquitous Networking Forum and New Generation Network Promotion Forum. He is also serving as President of NPO, the Digital Cinema Consortium of Japan (DCCJ).

In the last ten years Martin has been an inside client management consultant for a major global organisation in the automotive industry located in the Stuttgart headquarters and later within the Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore. Prior to this Martin had been leading various architect and development manager roles for clients such as KPMG, Barclays Bank, ING Bank and Shell Europe. Martin is appointed the Chairman of Singapore Computer Society Special Interest Group on Cloud Computing. On behalf of the country’s Infocomm professionals he leads discussions and forums with government, industry and academic organisations on the business and economic importance of cloud computing. Within this role he supports planning and development of Singapore’s capability and reach to become a central Asian competency hub on cloud technology research and services. Central to this role is to support programs for up and coming professionals from higher education into the Infocomm industry ensuring Singapore’s long term economic viability within the Asian Infocomm industry. Martin is also appointed a Government committee member of the IT Standards Committee on cloud computing jointly supported by Infocomm Development Authority for development on government best practice standards on cloud computing and virtualisation technology. In addition Martin sits on the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) committee on cloud computing jointly supported by the Government Workforce Development Agency.
